Burns & Shaw began with a simple belief: technology should work for people, not the other way around.

How we began

A relationship, not just an installation.

We started after seeing firsthand how complicated and unreliable home technology can become — especially for people who simply want to enjoy music, watch their favorite shows, or stay connected with family and friends.

What began with helping a family member build a simple, reliable music system grew into a larger mission: helping homeowners enjoy technology without the stress, confusion, or endless troubleshooting that so often comes with it.

Unlike large installation companies, we don't disappear after the project is complete. Whenever possible, the same two technicians guide you from consultation through installation and support — a consistent, personal experience from start to finish.

We take the time to explain every system, answer every question, and make sure you feel comfortable and confident using the technology in your home.

John has always had a passion for music and technology, which naturally led him to the work he does today. While attending American University and earning his Bachelors in Business Administration, he studied Audio Technology to better understand the science, acoustics, and engineering behind great sound, while also developing a strong interest in business and entrepreneurship. During his years at Best Buy, John gained hands-on experience with home audio, home theater, networking, and consumer technology, helping clients find solutions that fit their homes and lifestyles. Today, he works as an AV Engineer at National Presbyterian Church, where he manages professional audio and visual systems for live services and events. Through every stage of his career, John has enjoyed one thing most: helping people understand and enjoy technology without the frustration. He believes the best systems are the ones that feel simple, reliable, and tailored to you.
